anyone else quietly replacing their jewelry one piece at a time?

Our take

Have you ever found yourself quietly replacing your jewelry piece by piece? I used to buy inexpensive items without much thought, only to end up with a box full of tarnished, peeling pieces. Recently, I shifted my focus to quality over quantity, discovering artisans like Wild Fawn in London and Dalinda in Barcelona, who create beautiful, sustainable pieces. This journey has taught me the value of knowing the story behind each item I own.

i used to buy jewelry the way i bought basics - cheap, replace when it dies. then i Looked at my box last year and everything was either green or peeling. probably spent more replacing stuff than if i'd just bought one good piece to begin with

started looking into who actually makes what. wild fawn in london is lovely - female-run workshop, recycled materials, wearable everyday stuff. completedworks does these sculptural pieces that look like art objects. and through an instagram location search i found dalinda two women in barcelona making everything to order from a tiny workshop. the gold has this brushed unpolished texture i hadn't seen before and because nothing is premade there's no waste or overstock. i think it's their first collection

once you start paying attention to where things come from you can't stop. i'd rather have three things i know the story behind than a drawer full of stuff i can't remember buying

what have other people here found? especially smaller makers not on every list already
