Bella Hadid's New Alo Campaign Is All About Wellness
Our take

The wellness space, particularly within the fashion and lifestyle realm, continues to evolve beyond fleeting trends and into a more deeply ingrained ethos. Alo’s latest campaign featuring Bella Hadid is a compelling reflection of this shift, moving beyond mere athletic wear promotion to embrace a holistic understanding of well-being. It’s a natural progression for a brand like Alo, which has consistently positioned itself at the intersection of movement, mindfulness, and style. The choice of Hadid, known for her dedication to physical and mental health and her understated elegance, reinforces this commitment. This feels aligned with the broader cultural conversation around body positivity and self-acceptance, a conversation we've been tracking closely, as evidenced by the thoughtful exploration of emerging trends in [Not Denim, Not Satin—Fashion People Are Wearing These Trending Shorts Styles Instead]. The campaign's focus on embracing one’s body, rather than striving for an unattainable ideal, is particularly resonant in an era increasingly critical of unrealistic beauty standards. Moreover, the pairing of Hadid with Alo, both deeply rooted in the Los Angeles landscape, lends an authenticity to the campaign that feels refreshingly genuine – a stark contrast to some of the more overtly commercialized wellness partnerships we’ve observed.
The campaign's aesthetic, as captured by Mert & Marcus, leans into a quiet confidence, eschewing the often-aggressive energy of traditional fitness marketing. This subtlety is key. It speaks to a generation that values mindful movement and self-care rituals over grueling workouts and drastic transformations. It’s a visual echo of the understated luxury we champion – a feeling of well-being cultivated from within, rather than imposed from without. This approach aligns with the evolving understanding of wellness as a personal journey, a concept we recently explored through the lens of Copenhagen Fashion Week, where a focus on sustainable practices and mindful consumption shone through in the [The Best Copenhagen Fashion Week Spring/Summer 2027 Street Style]. The move away from the relentless pursuit of “perfection” and towards a more nuanced appreciation of the body's capabilities is a powerful message, and Alo’s choice to highlight this through Hadid’s image is strategically astute. It avoids the pitfalls of performative wellness, opting instead for a more introspective and relatable portrayal of self-care.
Beyond the immediate campaign impact, Alo’s partnership with Hadid signifies a larger trend: the blurring of lines between fashion, fitness, and wellness. Consumers are no longer seeking separate categories; they desire a unified lifestyle brand that addresses their multifaceted needs. This requires a shift in marketing strategy, moving away from product-centric messaging and towards a more values-driven approach. The emphasis on identity and self-expression, rather than just features, is a crucial element of this evolution. We've seen similar shifts in the swimwear market, where brands like Frankies Bikinis are prioritizing inclusivity and body positivity, as exemplified by Devon Lee Carlson’s recent collaboration [It's Here: Devon Lee Carlson's New Frankies Bikinis Collaboration]. Alo's campaign, with its focus on inner strength and mindful movement, taps into this desire for authenticity and resonates with a consumer base that prioritizes well-being above all else. The subtle integration of Alo apparel into Hadid’s lifestyle, rather than overtly showcasing it, further reinforces this refined, aspirational aesthetic.
Looking ahead, it will be fascinating to observe how Alo leverages this campaign to cultivate a deeper emotional connection with its audience. The key will be to maintain the authenticity and understated elegance that define this initial launch, resisting the temptation to over-commercialize the message. Will we see a continued emphasis on mental wellness and mindful practices, or will the campaign pivot towards more traditional fitness-focused content? The ongoing conversation around body image and the evolving definition of wellness will undoubtedly shape Alo’s future marketing strategies. The question remains: can Alo sustain this elevated, emotionally resonant approach, or will the pressures of the market lead to a dilution of its core values?

Bella Hadid’s always been a supporter and lover of wellness and physical health. So, it makes perfect sense that the top model is the latest face of Alo, which also shares her Los Angeles background. Hadid stars in the athletic brand’s Fall 2026 campaign photographed by duo Mert & Marcus, inspired by the power of movement and feeling comfortable in your body.
Much like its recent eyewear campaign, Alo’s new shoot finds Hadid in both urban and natural environments. In one set of photos, the star stretches on aerobic rings in the label’s signature white Airlift Rebel bra and matching 7/8 Rebel leggings. Another sees her doing yoga in a black tank top and stretchy shorts, with the Los Angeles skyline stretching in the background. The activewear also shines via a black-and-white sports bra with matching running shorts, styled by Mimi Cuttrell with its rugged black Alo Trail sneakers. Of course, Hadid also models plenty of the brand’s loungewear, including cropped sweatshorts and an oversized jacket that are just as perfect for workouts as off-duty coffee runs and errands.
“As I've gotten older, I've realized how important it is to create space for myself,” Hadid said in a press release. “Whether that's slowing down, moving my body, or just taking a moment to reconnect, those little rituals have become such a big part of how I take care of myself. To me, that's what wellness is all about, and it's always been something I associate with Alo. That's why this partnership felt so authentic — it reflects a part of my everyday life that's been there for years.”

Through the campaign’s combination of new and core pieces, Alo is also emphasizing versatility for both your active and day-to-day wardrobe. It’s a smart move for the brand, whose stylish collections have recently expanded to include resortwear and a range of luxury bags — plus the aforementioned sunglasses line, which debuted in a campaign starring Lila Moss, Amelia Gray, and more top models earlier this summer. The campaign also reunites Hadid with the wellness-focused brand after she previously posed for its Fall 2025 campaign.

“Bella has been part of our community for years, and she represents the ultimate Alo girl who moves seamlessly between the worlds of fashion, wellness, and culture while remaining deeply connected to herself through it all,” said Summer Nacewicz, executive vice president of marketing and creative at Alo. “Together, we've created a campaign that captures the spirit of Alo through Bella's personal approach to wellness, set in the city that shaped us.”
