If you had a $500/month clothing budget, what categories are worth splurging on? (For me: activewear)

Our take

If you suddenly had a $500 monthly clothing budget, which categories would you prioritize? For me, as a dedicated gym-goer, I would invest significantly in activewear, particularly Lululemon-style pieces that combine style and performance. I find that high-quality activewear is not just about aesthetics; it proves its worth through comfort and versatility in my daily routine. However, I wonder if I am overemphasizing this category. What would you choose—shoes, outerwear, bags, basics, or perhaps tailoring? I'd love to hear your thoughts and reasoning.

Question for the fashion brains here: if you suddenly had $500/month to spend on your wardrobe, what would you spend it on first?

I’m a regular gym-goer, so my hot take is I’d happily put a chunk of that into activewear (I wear Lululemon-style stuff nonstop and it actually earns its keep). But maybe I’m over-prioritizing it?

What would you focus on—activewear, shoes, outerwear, bags, basics, tailoring, something else? And what’s your reasoning?
