I want to get my nails done for the first time but have no idea what to ask for or what to get

Hey guys!

I’m 24 and I’ve never had my nails done. I’ve always been a nail biter and I did stop last year and went about 6 months before the habit kicked back in lol.

I’m embarrassed of my nails, I want pretty ones but I feel like my hands and fingers wouldn’t suit them, to me they are very chubby and weirdly shaped and I don’t like my thumbs. I have no idea what to ask for, what style or design to ask for etc. i have no clue and the thought of going to a salon not knowing what to ask makes me so nervous and not want to go at all.

I don’t want anything too long, maybe just above my finger tips, and I’d want a basic design nothing overly to showy but still pretty
