Why do my legs look like this after waxing?

I’ve been sugar waxing at home for years, but my legs have progressively been getting redder and redder after a session. I’m not sure why- I don’t feel any pain or anything at all while I wax, but after I rinse my legs I see all the red bumps. I just put lotion on, and this’ll be gone by tomorrow morning, but I was curious if anyone else has experienced this, or knows what I’m doing wrong? I use the soft ball method, I don’t use strips. TIA!
