Best things to do in Ceuta, Spain

| After several months living in Ceuta, a Spanish territory in North Africa, I thought I’d give a breakdown on the best things to do in the city. Ceuta is an hour ferry ride from Algeciras, and two and a half hours from Gibraltar. I’d recommend it for a day or two day trip. 1. Go to the beachPlaya Ribera and Playa Chorillo are located in the center of town. The beaches are gorgeous and have good restaurants. 2. Go on a hikeThe best thing about Ceuta is its natural scenery. Hike up to Monte Hacho fortress, or go round the entire peninsula (roughly 2 1/2 hours). 3. Eat Moroccan foodMoroccan culture is strong in Ceuta. The best restaurants are Al-Andalus (book in advance if it’s a weekend) and Oasis (book in advance no matter what time you’re going). If you’re looking for good quality Spanish food, Piscolabis is a great place for a meal out. 4. Buy Moroccan spices and teaMercado Central de Abastos has stalls filled with Moroccan spices and goods. I would really recommend the Jasmine tea. [link] [comments] |
