Asia travel July/August

Hi all. My partner and I are planning on travelling for 6 weeks July/August. We are planning on starting in Sri Lanka and then hope to travel to Southeast Asia. I know this is predominantly wet season but we are fixed to these months due to work commitments.

We have been to parts of Asia many times and have visited Thailand (Bangkok, north, Koh Tao, Koh Phi Phi), Malaysia (KL, Penang, Langkawi, Malacca), Cambodia (Siem Reap only), Vietnam (north to south), Philippines (Manilla, Palawan, Coron, Cebu, Boracay), Singapore, Indonesia (Java, Bali, Gili, Lombok),Taiwan and parts of China.

This time we plan on going to Sri Lanka as mentioned and Borneo. We love beaches, nature, cool towns, good food and some short hikes.

Given it is wet season mostly, are there are places you would suggest that would be dry or any places that would still be nice in wet season? We would love to see some places that are less touristy and a bit untouched.

Thanks for your input!
