Sharpness and Clarity Aren’t that Important.

The camera brands have consistently told us that their lenses are sharper and sharper over time. But I sometimes really wonder why this matters all that much. Engineers work to create their fetishized version of reality in an image for the purpose to capitalism. I think we can all agree that reality isn't all that great. And with that said, there's good reason to dial back the sharpness.
