Fall Spain trip itinerary planning

Hey travellers,

Despite being an avid traveller, I’m having a hard time planning my trip to Spain for the fall (Oct 2026)

I will be coming from Toronto to Barcelona, I have a conference in Barcelona for 4 days mid Oct, but I’m also interested in seeing Madrid and Andalusia (thinking of Córdoba, Seville and Granada) then flying out of Madrid. My plan is to do Barcelona, then Madrid, then Andalusia, then go back and leave from Madrid.

The issue here is I don’t know how to base myself in Andalusia to see 3 cities. I thought about doing 1 night in Cordoba, 2 in Seville and 2 in Granada but I don’t know which city to start with, and what is the easiest way to go back to Madrid from one of those cities.

I will also likely rely on trains to get between cities, but I’m open to private transfers if needed.
