Amber Midthunder Grounds Carrie's Horror in Self-Aware Humanity

There is nothing performative about Amber Midthunder's terror. In bringing Miss Desjardin to life for Prime Video's *Carrie*, the *Prey* actress grounds the horror in a self-aware humanity that feels refreshingly quiet. She plays the role from the inside out, letting restraint speak louder than spectacle. It is a studied, feminine power. For those following the broader mythology, Mike Flanagan's *Carrie* Expands Into a Broader Horror Arc, and Midthunder's subtle work is the emotional anchor this adaptation needs.
