Keke Palmer's Must Haves, From a Fabletics Set to a $26 Moisturizer

Keke Palmer’s undeniable momentum this year – a true generational moment, as the article rightly states – speaks volumes about the evolving landscape of celebrity influence and the shifting priorities of modern audiences. Her success isn’t solely rooted in traditional Hollywood metrics; it’s a confluence of carefully cultivated digital presence, authentic engagement, and a willingness to explore diverse creative avenues. We’ve seen similar dedication to timeless style in other figures, like Kendall Jenner’s commitment to re-wearing pieces like Kendall Jenner Couldn't Wait for Sweater Weather to Rewear Her Favorite The Row Knit, a quiet rebellion against the relentless cycle of consumption. Palmer's choices, from her podcast to her film roles, feel intrinsically linked to her personality, resonating with a generation craving authenticity and multifaceted individuals. The article highlights her “must-haves,” a curated collection of items reflecting both accessibility and aspiration, but it’s the *reason* behind her prominence that’s truly noteworthy: a powerful example of how a modern star builds a brand beyond red-carpet appearances. The current conversation around fashion also emphasizes thoughtful choices; the shift away from basic blue jeans, as explored in Fashion People Aren't Buying Basic Blue Jeans Right Now—These Are the Pairs They're Choosing Instead, mirrors Palmer's own curated approach to style and influence – prioritizing intention over fleeting trends.

The emphasis on Palmer’s podcast, “Baby, This Is Keke Palmer,” is crucial. It demonstrates a recognition that celebrity connection isn’t solely about projecting a flawless image. It’s about vulnerability, shared experiences, and genuine conversation. This aligns perfectly with the current cultural mood, where audiences are actively seeking personalities who feel relatable and transparent. The star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame is a traditional marker of success, but for Palmer, it feels like a validation of a broader strategy – one that prioritizes building a loyal community through consistent, authentic engagement. We’ve seen similar echoes in how other style icons utilize personal platforms, with Lana Condor’s effortless, nostalgic style exemplified in a recent dress that felt both timeless and instantly replicable, as noted in Lana Condor's '90s-Inspired Dress Would've Made Her the Best-Dressed Guest at Any Wedding. These smaller, more personal moments often contribute more to lasting influence than any single, extravagant event.

Palmer's ability to seamlessly blend high-profile projects with intimate digital connections establishes a new standard for modern celebrity. She’s not simply endorsing products; she's weaving them into a narrative about her life and her values. This is a subtle but significant shift from the traditional model of celebrity endorsement, which often feels transactional and disconnected. The "must-haves" list, therefore, isn't just about the items themselves; it's a window into Palmer's world, a world that feels both aspirational and attainable. The inclusion of a $26 moisturizer alongside a Fabletics set speaks to this duality – a recognition that luxury and accessibility can coexist, and that true style is about more than just designer labels. It’s about curating a life that reflects your values and your personality, and Palmer has mastered the art of doing just that.

Ultimately, Keke Palmer’s rise represents a fundamental shift in how we define and consume celebrity. It’s a move away from manufactured perfection and towards authentic connection, a celebration of multifaceted talent, and a recognition that influence is earned, not simply bestowed. As the lines between traditional media and digital platforms continue to blur, how will other emerging stars navigate this evolving landscape, and will they be able to cultivate the same level of genuine connection and lasting impact as Palmer? The answer likely lies in embracing vulnerability, prioritizing authenticity, and understanding that true influence stems from a deeper understanding of what resonates with a modern audience.

Keke Palmer is having a generational year. The actress, who audiences first fell in love with in 2006's "Akeelah and the Bee," is now a perennial fan favorite in Hollywood, with a popular podcast ("Baby, This Is Keke Palmer"), a prolific movie career (most recently, "I Love Boosters"), and a newly-announced hosting gig at the 2026 CFDA Fashion Awards. This year also marks a major milestone for the luminary as she'll receive a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. With a career spanning two decades and still thriving, Palmer's found the key to achieving longevity in the ever-shifting Hollywood landscape. "[It] comes from being willing to evolve," she tells Popsugar. "I started so young, and every season of my career has required me to meet myself again and ask, 'OK, who am I now? What do I want to say now?' I've never felt the need to be confined by what people already knew me for." She cites a deep love and passion for the arts as her constant motivation: "I love performing, I love creating, I love connecting with people, and I'm still curious." Life moves fast and I've learned I can't be everything to everybody at the same time. [...] You can't pour into every cup at once, so I try to just be present. Palmer's love for entertaining is evident in everything she does, but that doesn't make the workload easy to bear. An Emmy Award-winning actress, singer, entrepreneur, podcast host, and mother to 3-year-old Leodis Jackson, she's learned to be intentional about finding balance. "It's about being where you're at in the current moment," she says. "Life moves fast, and I've learned I can't be everything to everybody at the same time. So, when I'm with my son, I'm with my son. When I'm working, I'm locked in on the work. You can't pour into every cup at once, so I try to just be present." It also helps to have an outlet, and Palmer's found one in the low-impact exercise method of Pilates. "It's really become my reset," she says, fresh off leading a class at Essence Festival. "It helped me slow down, reconnect with my body, and make time for myself. By the time I leave class, I feel like I can show up as a better version of myself for whatever comes next." Her love for exercise is a natural fit for her collaboration with Fabletics. Palmer just launched her second collection with the brand, and it features everything from matching activewear sets to a chic, cropped trench coat. "Every piece was inspired by the different versions of me that show up: everyday mom, entrepreneur, actor, singer, and just Keke," she shares. "Some days I'm running from meetings to mom life, some days I'm headed to the gym, and some days I need an outfit that can do all of the above without making me think too hard and still look cute." "I love conversation, and the podcast gives me an opportunity to be curious in a completely different way," she says. "My favorite part is when somebody feels comfortable enough to get past the talking points and you get into a real conversation about who they are, how they think, or what they've experienced." Past guests read like a who's who of entertainment and politics: Oprah, Michelle Obama, Kamala Harris, Tracee Ellis Ross, Whoopi Goldberg, Usher, Taraji P. Henson, Ciara. Palmer's dream guest? "I would love to sit down with Rihanna or Beyoncé," she says excitedly. "I'd have about a million questions!" She's also gearing up for the aforementioned CFDA Awards. It's too early to tell which designer she may partner with on a red-carpet look, but she does have a beautiful, long-standing relationship with Sergio Hudson. "Sergio understands glamour," she says. "He knows how to make a woman feel powerful, sexy, and sophisticated without losing the personality of the person wearing the clothes." Palmer is widely regarded as Hudson's most beloved muse: he served as her creative director for the 2023 Met Gala and 2025 Vanity Fair Oscar party, among many other events, and they posed together on the cover of Essence Magazine's September 2023 issue. "What I love about working with him is that it really feels collaborative," Palmer says. "We have an amazing trust between us, and he understands when I want to have a fashion moment. Sergio's work celebrates the body and celebrates confidence. When I put on one of his creations, I know I'm going to feel like a woman, honey! There's something timeless about what he does while still making it feel fresh." As we talked about what's next for her career in film, I shared that Tahj Mowry specifically named her in our Popsugar Aughts Effect cover interview, revealing he'd love to star opposite Palmer in a rom-com. Her response? "Oh, I would absolutely do a rom-com with Tahj!" she says. "I love that he said that. We've both been doing this for such a long time, so I think it would be really fun to come together at this point in our careers and do something people might not expect. And I love a good romantic comedy. I think we're in a moment where people want to laugh, fall in love with characters, and just have a good time watching a movie again. Tahj, let's make it happen!"
