A handloom product transcends the definition of a mere item; it embodies the dedication of an artisan, the legacy of a skill, the strength of a community, and often, generations of inherited knowledge. I’m continually learning, and I'm curious: what personal value do you find in a handloom piece versus its machine-made counterpart?
Before entering the handloom and sustainable fashion business, i thought I understood textiles reasonable well.
I was wrong.
One of the biggest things I have learned is that a handloom product isn't simply a product. Behind it is a person, a skill, a community and often generations of knowledge.
I am still learning, but I am curious - what makes you personally value a handloom product over a machine made one?
Is it Craftsmanship? The story? Quality? Sustaonability? Cultural connection?
